wadaCrush strictly prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation and cooperates with law enforcement where required. The platform is built around safe pairing, no global user search, pre-composed crush messages, and identities that remain masked unless the interest is mutual.
Information We Collect
Account and contact information
Phone number verification is required to create a wadaCrush account. Adding an email address is optional. You may also add eligible secondary phone numbers or email addresses as alias identities so messages received across linked identities can be associated with one account.
If you choose to connect Snapchat, wadaCrush uses Snapchat's official API to validate the connection and stores the associated Snapchat profile URL or Snapchat ID against your wadaCrush profile. Connecting Snapchat is optional.
We may also collect your date of birth or age-related information and other profile information you choose to provide through the App.
Contact-book data
If you choose to give wadaCrush access to your device contacts, we collect the name, phone number and email address of each contact. No wadaCrush profile is created for an uploaded contact, and the contact is not notified merely because their information was uploaded.
Contact-book data is used solely to help you identify people you already know, reduce irrelevant or unfamiliar suggestions, and improve matching and grouping features. It is never used for marketing and is never shared with third parties.
Your permission for wadaCrush to access your contacts remains active until you turn it off in Settings, independent of the annual refresh.
Photo & liveness verification
If you choose to verify your profile, wadaCrush captures a live photo positioned within an on-screen guide. This confirms that a real person is present at the time of capture. The photo is not compared against other photos, external databases or a facial-recognition system, and no biometric template is created or stored.
The verification photo is automatically screened for inappropriate or explicit content before a verification badge is applied. The photo itself is never shown to other users; only the verification badge is visible. Verification photos are retained while the account remains active and are permanently deleted when the account is deleted, or sooner if verification is turned off in Settings.
User-generated content and App activity
We process messages, crush selections, pairing activity, privacy preferences and other interactions made within the App where necessary to provide wadaCrush functionality.
Non-personal and technical information
We may collect non-identifiable or technical information such as:
- App usage data, including features accessed and time spent.
- Device type, operating system and browser type.
- Location data limited to city-level information, if enabled.
- Device country data as a one-time upfront step during setup.
- Public website analytics data such as pages visited, referral source, interactions, browser and device characteristics, approximate geographic information and measurement identifiers.
How We Use Your Information
We use information collected through wadaCrush to:
- Facilitate discreet messaging and mutual match or pairing notifications.
- Mask a sender's identity until a mutual pairing occurs.
- Create, authenticate and manage accounts and linked identities.
- Validate an optional Snapchat connection and associate the validated Snapchat profile URL or ID with the user's wadaCrush profile.
- Confirm that a profile belongs to a real, live person and apply a verification badge without identifying or matching that person against another image or database.
- Enhance the user experience and provide support.
- Improve and develop features based on user feedback and App usage data.
- Maintain platform security and comply with applicable legal obligations.
- Measure how visitors find and use public website pages through Google Analytics 4 and improve content, performance and reliability.
Discreet crush identifiers and pending pipelines
A user may manually address a discreet, pre-composed crush message to a known connection using a phone number, email address or Snapchat ID. If that identifier is already linked to a wadaCrush account, the recipient can receive an in-app notification.
If the recipient has not linked the specific phone number, email address or Snapchat ID used by the sender, the pipeline remains unresolved. No notification is sent at that point, and wadaCrush does not tell the sender whether that identifier exists on the platform. If the recipient later links the matching identifier while the pipeline remains active, the pipeline can resolve and the recipient can then be notified.
A discreet crush sent with a free credit remains open for 7 days. A discreet crush sent with a premium credit remains open for up to 1 year. If no pairing occurs before the applicable expiry, the pending message and the recipient identifier associated with that pending message are deleted.
Contact-book use
If you grant permission, wadaCrush may access and upload your device contacts to its servers to help identify people you may know, reduce irrelevant or unfamiliar suggestions, and improve matching and grouping features. This information is used solely for these purposes, is never shared with third parties, and deleted if you turn off contact access.
Data Protection & Security
- Messages are made discreet to protect privacy and confidentiality.
- Personal information is masked and shared only in the event of a mutual pairing.
- wadaCrush implements technical, administrative and physical safeguards intended to protect data against unauthorized access, loss or misuse.
- Verification photos are stored securely and separately from the public profile and are never made visible to other users beyond the verification badge itself.
- Users have access to safety and privacy controls including user-level blocking, reporting an abusive user and thread-level message deletion where available.
- Users cannot globally search other users on the platform, supporting a private known-connection experience.
Information Sharing
wadaCrush does not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Information may be shared only in limited circumstances, including:
- With consent: when you explicitly agree to share information.
- For legal reasons: to comply with legal obligations or respond to valid legal requests such as subpoenas.
- For service improvement and operation: with trusted third-party providers for analytics, communications, hosting, payments or App improvement, subject to appropriate privacy requirements.
Google Analytics
Google may process limited public-website usage and device information to provide Google Analytics 4. wadaCrush disables Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals in the website tag and does not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, crush details, support-form content or unsubscribe tokens to Google Analytics.
Snapchat integration
If you choose to connect Snapchat, wadaCrush uses Snapchat's official API to validate the connection. wadaCrush stores the associated Snapchat profile URL or Snapchat ID against your profile so that Snapchat can function as an optional linked identity within wadaCrush. Snapchat is a third-party service and is also subject to its own applicable terms and privacy practices.
Showcase & Referral Network
Showcase
Showcase is optional. If you opt in, wadaCrush may suggest your anonymized profile to compatible users. Showcase displays only your age, gender and compatibility score based on stated preferences and astrology.
Showcase does not display your name, profile photo, Snapchat ID, phone number or email address. Users do not need each other's contact information in order to appear as Showcase suggestions. You can turn Showcase off at any time.
Referral network
Users may invite real-life friends to wadaCrush through their own external channels. Referrals are not sent through wadaCrush's notification systems. When a referred person signs up using a referral link, both people can choose whether to remain connected in each other's referral network for Showcase purposes.
With the relevant users' consent, Showcase suggestions can extend through the referral network beyond direct referrals. Direct referrals themselves are not shown as Showcase suggestions to the referrer. Users who have not opted into Showcase are excluded from appearing to others in the network. Contact-based suggestions may also surface within the network when the relevant users have uploaded contacts, opted into Showcase and have matching preferences.
The referral network never exposes another user's phone number, email address or Snapchat ID through Showcase; only the anonymized Showcase card is displayed.
JoinTheQueue
A person who does not want to create a wadaCrush account may choose to join JoinTheQueue by submitting a phone number, email address and/or Snapchat ID and consenting to receive a notification if that identifier receives a discreet crush.
- No wadaCrush profile is created for a JoinTheQueue participant.
- Notifications are external only, such as SMS or email, because there is no App account to receive an in-app notification.
- A participant may opt out at any time using the private, unique link included with applicable notifications.
Your Privacy Choices
- Control over data: review, update or delete eligible account and personal information through App settings.
- Contacts: revoke contact-book permission in device or App settings. Turning off contact access does not require waiting for the annual refresh.
- Verification: photo verification is optional. You may decline it during setup or turn it off later in Settings, which permanently deletes the stored verification photo.
- Showcase: Showcase is opt-in and can be turned off at any time.
- Referral network: where available, you may leave a referral network or stop participating in Showcase.
- JoinTheQueue and location: you may opt out of JoinTheQueue and disable applicable location sharing or permissions.
- Analytics: you may use browser privacy settings, content-blocking tools or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported.
Users should not share passwords or their private unsubscribe URL, code or token received through SMS or email, because sharing those credentials can create a data security risk.
Permanent Account Deletion
Account deletion is permanent. If you delete your account, all personal data and messages associated with that account are permanently removed from wadaCrush servers, including uploaded contact data and any stored verification photo.
The deleted profile cannot be restored. If you later choose to use wadaCrush again, you must create a new account; deleted profile information, messages, crush activity and verification data are not restored.
Children's Privacy
Although the objective of wadaCrush is to check the vibe between known connections, the App and website are intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware of data collected from someone under 18, it will be promptly deleted.
Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory or operational reasons. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Significant updates will be communicated through the App where appropriate.
