Notifications

There are two types of notifications, depending on whether your crush is already using wadaCrush.

Registered recipients receive an in-app push notification, as long as they have push notifications turned on.

Recipients who haven't signed up for wadaCrush yet are notified by SMS or email instead. Which channel they receive depends on which contact detail — phone number or email address — the sender provided when sending the crush message. To receive these alerts, the recipient also needs to be registered through the #JoinTheQueue page.

SMS delivery isn't guaranteed. Local carrier regulations and delivery times can affect whether a text arrives, and phone numbers registered with a local Do Not Disturb (DND) registry may not receive SMS notifications at all.

Because of this, wadaCrush recommends senders choosing the email option of the receiver when they have it. It's also good practice to send two separate crush messages to the same person — one to their email and one to their phone number — to improve the odds the notification reaches them.
